About the artist

Elin Hughes

Piecing together fragments from a range of eclectic influences, Elin creates playful and mischievous ceramics from her studio in Dolgellau, Gwynedd. Her sculptural vessels explore her personal identity as well as her relationship to Wales, and the role of skill and craft in today’s society. Through the fracture and reconfiguration of her wheel thrown forms, her work embraces the irregularity and uncertainty, joy and humour which are central to our everyday lives.
