Fire Bowl Basket

Fire Bowl Basket

£80.00

This work by Lewis Prosser is a specially commissioned piece by Oriel Myrddin, showcased as part of the 2024 Craft Festival Wales Craft Trail in Cardigan. Crafted from Brittany Green and old French willow, this basket is currently the centrepiece atop Lewis’s sculptural column outside Albion Aberteifi.

This statement piece is a thoughtful response to Graham Sutherland’s “Three Organic Forms,” reflecting Sutherland’s bold civic aesthetic. Lewis masterfully intertwines tradition with contemporary design, creating a work that resonates deeply with the themes of form and function.
Its bold form brings a modern edge to traditional basketry. It’s a striking addition to any space, embodying both craftsmanship and artistic vision.

Please note that this basket will have been outside and exposed to the elements as part of the Craft Festival Trail – the work will show signs of wear.
