“Mab” is an remarkable artwork by Hannah Walters, created for the 2024 Craft Festival Wales Craft Trail in Cardigan, West Wales. This unique piece is a response to Laura Ford’s “Glory Glory (Hat and Horns),” which explores themes of Welsh nationality, identity, and folklore.

Hannah has skilfully fused elements of Welsh ceramic traditions, such as Nantgarw and Swansea porcelain, into her work. Crafted from a combination of porcelain and stoneware, “Mab” is finished with a tin glaze.

Hannah Walters

Hannah is a ceramic artist based in Cardiff. Heavily inspired by her time working at her family’s antique centre in Pembrokeshire, she creates sculptural and functional items. Using crank clay and porcelain, her work explores value and conflict, and her aim is to make contemporary antiques that link past and present.
